U.K. magazine Empire has posted a very positive review of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on their website. As with all reviews, beware of spoilers.

Aint It Cool News has put up a new review of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The reviewer calls it Burton's best film since Edward Scissorhands! Watch for the reviews to start coming thick and fast as we near the release of the movie.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory contests!

We've decided to run two Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-related contests on the Collective, and Warner Bros. will be providing exclusive prizes to the winners! Here are the details:

This is an art contest. Your task is simple, go to one of the character sites below:

Visit the downloads section and use the artwork found there as the inspiration for your own drawing, painting, etc. The prizes for the most creative submission will be as follows:

Write your own Oompa Loompa song! Come up with the lyrics for an original tune for the Oompa Loompas to sing. You can even sing the lyrics yourself if you want, but that's not essential. The most imaginative submission will win the following:

New edition of Burton on Burton coming out!

We have word from author Mark Salisbury himself that a new edition of his excellent book will be coming out this summer. It will feature new chapters on Planet of the Apes, Big Fish, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride, as well as a new foreword from Johnny Depp. There will also be artwork from Burton himself accompanying the chapters. You can see a picture of the new cover here!
