This movie, penned by Ed Wood writers Alexander and Karaszewski, is loosely based on the life of Robert Ripley, the famous creator of Ripley's Believe It or Not! It will chronicle his journies around the world in search of oddities. Ripley's incredible true-life tales were spun into a newspaper strip and eventually museums and TV series (the most recent of which was hosted by Superman actor Dean Cain). Jim Carrey and Burton were ready to go into production, but script and budget problems led to the film being postponed. In the meantime Burton directed Sweeney Todd instead. Apparently Burton will still produce the film, but watch this space for further news!
