Hells Yeah! I love the Nightmare Before Christmas! Sure the 3D version won't be as great as the original... But who cares? It's the Nightmare Before Christmas! YEAH!
I think this will be kind of neat to watch in 3D--and anyway, just getting the chance to see Nightmare in theatres will be great. Sort of missed it the first time around.

Nah....I think a 3D element just might cheapen the film somehow. Something tells me it's just Disney's way of making more money off a film of whose creator the oversized corporation pretty much dismissed in the early stages of his career as "weird" . Well , obviously , but that's always been a basic element of his brilliance. He's unique ; never meant to fit easily into any sort of mould. No...Sorry...This film is a classic and should remain so.

Always said this was an ideal project.. and the fact that both Henry and Tim are into the idea i an just relax and enjoy the ride.. its in safe hands.. if it was going to cheapen the movie then they wouldn't have done it.. you should all know by now Henry and Tim don't just do things for the sake of it.. or for money, dount they will be getting a fee for it..
Kinda surprised Disney are into it.. i guess when it comes down to it they want to keep pushing animation as far as they can.

Coraline will be the first time that stop-motion is pared with computer animation. Selick always pares the medium with something. It will star Dakota Fanning as the voice of Coraline. Hope that gives you an idea.
It's not Burton himself I question but rather Disney's intentions. Then again, I'm a natural-born cynic so...I may be wrong on this. :::smiles:::

Do tell, anonymous one , do tell. As another example , they're putting in an animatronic Captain Jack Sparrow at the entrance to that most sacred of amusement park rides The Pirates of The Carribean. If they intend to make it over completely into the movie and put in that pretty boy Orlando Bloom I'm gonna boycott the place!
...not to say that Johnny Depp in any form is a bad thing , really but come on...that's just tacky.

Are they remaking the entire movie in 3d animation on the computer or are they making it look better with 3D effects or what are they doing to it?
They are adding 3-D effects to it like a regular 3-D movie.
From my understanding the 3-D treatment does not mean CG, what it means is that they will manipulate the picture to look 3-D through 3-D glasses. Correct me if I'm wrong.

this is gonna ruin nbc. i mean, look at noddy,. that was stop motion but now they have made it into 3D and it looks terrible. the movement is jerky, the colours are way too bright an its just lost the classic feel to it. why cant they go and trash some other movie . . .
I'm excited that it'll be in theatres again (I was only one when it originally came out). However, I was a bit confused at first as well about whether or not it will be CGId or just in 3-D. Now I know it's in 3-D for sure.
However, as some of you have mentioned, this will either be a smash or trash. It all depends how well done it is. Of course, I'm relieved that Tim's working on it; it means he won't let them remake it horribly.

As meny,I too beleive it will ruin TNBC.I think orginal movies are better because like most movies people don't like re-makes of movies and I think thats what makes people forget about them because really....look at all the remakes of movies they did!Like I don't think that people would want to see another remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...so what would be the point in making the same orginal classic movie the same except in 3-D???!I personaly don't like movies in 3-D they just don't seem to have the right feeling or touch to them that someone has worked on them very hard.For example: The Disney picture movie 'Cars'.To me it is just plain colors and cars lips moving theirs no art in it,but thats just my opinion.Like they say, "nothing beats the classics!"!

Meh, let's just say this in the most polite way possible:
I'm no supporter of this idea... Nightmare's flawless the way it is, in my opinion. The stop-motion animation just added on to its perfection-- 3D animation is a little too tacky for me, especially for something so lovely like Nightmare. It'd break my heart if this mini-remake turns out all wrong, and I truly mean that.
I'm not too fond of Disney joining in on this either (yeah, what ARE their intentions of this?), but as long as Burton and Selick are helping... well... I guess I should be trusting them to keep The Nightmare Before Christmas a classic masterpiece.

i COMPLETELY agree...i am a HUGE fan of tim burton and i admire how he feels that stopmotion gives a film/comercial/shortclip more of a reality and emotion to the situation. No one is going to want to see 'the making of the nightmare before christmas (2006)' if it would just be men infront of a computer enchancing a timeless masterpiece.
i watch this film regulary for the handmade art and intricate details...and of course the story...
i say........maybe touch up the animated ghosts etc...but leave the rest alone
i think we should cherish it and show it to people who would love it and not open it up the the deep criticism that the press these days come up with.
3-d is tacky...
to be honest i love my TNBC merch and i love to find little bits that make me think...'ye, its a classic' i don't want the disney shop windows stacked with merch that everyone will have and the original treasure that you find in old comic book stores will become disgarded.

i really don't think they should mess with it. it was a classic movie.....every time they redo a classic movie it turns to shit. i have been obsessed with that movie since it came out. it's everywhere in my room, i have jack tattooed on my forarm.....i just don't see why they have to redo it. i am confused though......in remaking the movie to 3-d....are they changing the story line, or anything in the movie other then the graphics, or is that it? is it coming out in theaters or just coming back out "remastered" on DVD?

I LOVE the Nightmare but it being almost as ols I am I never got to see it in the theater. It wasnt till I was lik 3 when my mom broght it home and since then I watch it over and over everyday (well now at least every week till fall comes then everyday). Wherther it be in 2-D or 3-D it's still the same movie adn the added diminsion will just add to the experiance. I;m sure this will be the new standard of watching it, what I'm not to sure about is the covers of the songs on the new dual disc soundtrack. Why mess with classic song...if they mess it up I will havve to shun them for life (plus I'm not to crazy about the bands the got).
