Vincent Schiavelli dies
We've heard the sad news that character actor Vincent Schiavelli, best known to Burton fans as the Organ Grinder in Batman Returns, has died of lung cancer. The 57 year old actor had a long and varied career in both TV and film, and while he never became a household name, his face was familiar to millions of movie fans. He will be missed.

All I have to say is that you've waited a little too long to post a news story. The month is almost over. Unless you post one every few days, you won't have much. Again, another Burton actor has died. Who is next? I don't know Vincent at all, but I am sorry for his death.
We post news as soon as we're made aware of it. Sometimes that's a little after the fact, since computer problems and real life distractions mean we can't be monitoring online news 24/7. To be honest, there hasn't been much Burton news lately other than his involvement with Believe It or Not, which still hasn't been officially confirmed.

I'm sorry to say I don't remember an organ grinder in Batman Returns, actually, I don't even know what an organ grinder is, fill me in, would you please.
An organ grinder is the guy who kills Batman and grings his liver, small intenstine, splean, etc. into a big machine to make hotdogs for the masses. DUH!

but the organ grinder wasn't in batman returns was he??????? it was cat woman and the penguin boy in batman returns, i don't remember an organ grinder at all. especially seeing as i watched the movie for the first time 2 days ago on dvd as i got it for christmas. Good movie by the way!!!! love cat woman. she rocks.But i'm sure he was a very good actor and it is sad to here that most of the actors in tim burtons films are dieing so suddenly. i bet he will be teribly missed by the tim burton fans who actually know who the guy is.
I rember him in Batman Returns. You can't forget his face, he was in so many movies. I think he only had a couple of lines, but I don't rember him being called the organ grinder. He was one of the penguins minions. I'm pretty sure if you look him up, you'll know who he is.

Ok, i've only scanned through your comments and a few of you don't seem to remember the organ grinder. he was the guy with the little spider monkey, with the musical box! and aww, thats really sad. i liked him in Snow White, he was excellent playing wednesday. and in the whipping boy he was also excellent.
i got who you mean now as i watched the dvd again and looked on the credits, i'm sorry to "miss night" if i offended you or anything, it must really annoy you to see people who are confussed of who he is as you seem to know who he is and like him. he did only have a few lines but he was cool, by the looks of it. happy new year to you tim burton fans out there and r.i.p. vincent schiavelli, i'm shure you where loved by alot of people.

He was also in Man On The Moon with Jim Carrey playing some character called Maynard Smith.
Just a bit of good news....Ed Wood Special edition has been released.
I bought it last night.
Oh, my...I didn't know him either...but that's just really sad. :( R.I.P Mr. Schiavelli.

Well Bill, because it was news and I thought the forum should know that. Just because I haven't posted my grievances, dosen't mean that I don't like him or have bad feelings toward his work. I had already known about it.
Vincent Schiavelli was not just a character actor, as a friend I can attest to the fact that he was a wonderful man of character to all he met. Few know that he was educated at Julliard, spoke multiple languages, wrote many books and was an accomplished chef. His odd looks can be attributed to Marfan syndrome (Abraham Lincoln also had this)and he chaired many fundraisers for research into this genetic condition & mentored children and young adults with Marfan. He was a great character actor, but most of all, he was a friend that I will miss.
