Corpse Bride art contest
We're running a Corpse Bride contest and Warner Bros. will again be providing exclusive prizes to the winners! The challenge for this contest will be to design an original character in the style of the Corpse Bride (i.e. not a character we have already seen from the film). You can create this character any way you want. You can draw it, paint it, even sculpt it and send us a photo.
Once you've created a character to inhabit the world of the Corpse Bride, email your submission to us. The deadline for all submissions will be September 30. As with the previous contests we have run, prizes can only be mailed to winners in the USA or Canada. However, if you're not in those countries but still want to share your art, feel free to send it in anyway. We'll keep you updated when we have more information on the prizes that'll be offered. Good luck!

i think everything sounds great but i dont feel that i have the brain to do it. i feel so...stupid. i want to make a creation but i just cant think of what to do. good luck to the rest of you though. hope you enkoy your prizes.

I won't submit mine, but I will draw one. Not because I would like to win, but because I feel artsy today.
What exactly do we have to put in the e-mail? Do we upload our entry to something like Geocities then give the link? Do we have to describe our entry? Do we give you our address in the e-mail, or wait to give it if we win?
In answer to the previous post, you just need to attach a picture of your original character to your email. No description is required unless you want to add one. The winners will be contacted once the contest ends, so you don't need to put your shipping address in the email.
Can I just mail my submission in or do I need to email it?

I'm done with most of my entries...my two favorites are a freaky little girl I call Olivia and a very scary butler with the working name of Creepington. (Schmaltzy, I know, but give me a break!) Now all I have to do is hit up my friend for the use of her scanner...

I finally submitted my picture! She's a harlequin corpse, juggling a spiked ball, one of her eyes, and her heart. =)
Supposing I take a character I've created and mess with their model to draw him/her in the style of "Corpse Bride" and submit it to this contest... Would I lose any rights over my character supposing I may do something with them (as in, publish and/or copyright the character) in the future? I would really like to submit, and a few characters I've already created I think could be done in a Burton-style nicely; but it's more important for me to know I won't give them up to a company (Warner Bros. or otherwise) at this time.
If the movie isn't out until the 23rd, how do I know I'm not creating a similar character from the movie? Have to get started early since it's due the 30th and would hate to do all this work for nothing.
