CatCF remains number one for second week!

Box Office Mojo has the estimates for this weekend and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory stayed at number one at the box office, earning another $28.3 million. It's total box office is now $114.1 million, so it's well on its way to becoming one of Burton's most successful movies ever!

I just had to post this: Charlie is the best movie Tim has done in the past ten years. I wish the general public would give the film a chance and forget the Michael Jackson idea which is completely bogus. This was one of my fave books as a child and I felt Burton perfectly captured it (especially the chocolate castle scene)... The film references (Kubrick, Hitchcock) were hilarious too. Burton is a filmmaker for film geeks- I'm not afraid to say when he doesn't succeed at what he does, but this film was genuinely good! Everyone should see it!

I'm going to see it today! I'm taking my friend and her little sister (groan), they're both hard core Gene Wilder fans and LOVE Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the 70's one). They say "It can't be better then the first one". I'm wondering, is it. I'm sure it is, but could someone give a brief review with no spoilers?

Oh my God! I love that movie! I enjoyed that so much. I really liked the flashbacks and the scene when Charlie, Granpa Joe and Willy are in the elevater looking on the other children. My friend and her sister said it was alright but wouldn't see it again. I, on the other hand, would see it till i was sick of. Hmm, I'll have to become a millionare to do that.
